So yesterday I had a birthday
so much fun and I had some cake
it was carrot cake which is close to my heart
in fact the whole day was full of carbs
we ate at a place called Home Room in North Oakland
they serve mac and cheese in various styles and brands
I had the Mexican one that had in it chorizo
what a lunch but then there were more carbs to go!
Later, we ate calzones at my in-law's house and they were amazing! 
So I think as well as turning 43 yesterday
I gained 43 pounds to I'll eat better today!

Today we hear from the Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, PLUS we bring you the segment MIKE ON MOBILE where I call in from an undisclosed location.  Well, we disclose it later on today.  Maybe.  You'll have to listen to find out.

Tomorrow IS THANKSGIVING!  I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt I'll have time to bring you a THANKSGIVING podcast...so sorry.  I'm flaking twice in one week.  But geez it's two holidays for me!  Oh yeah, and as well as it being t-day, it's my Mom's b-day!  So cut me some slack.  Like you'd have time to listen tomorrow anyway.

Friday we will bring you the segment MIKE ON MOBILE with a call from the Thanksgiving festivities.  Plus we'll hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino the Parking Attendant, and Bison Bentley: three people who think that carbs grow on trees.  Well, they're sort of right.

It's the day before my birthday full of happiness and sorrow
just want you to know there will be no podcast for tomorrow
November 22nd will be a day of reflection and peace
saying goodbye to 42 and welcoming 43
and as you know if you have any facebook friends
you get "happy birthday" greetings that never end
they all say "Happy Birthday and have a good one!"
or they mention an inside joke that's sometimes fun
or, sometimes, you get no happy birthday's at all.  With my under 300 friends I guess that's entirely possible.
So as I go further into the middle age
I'm enjoying less having to turn the page.

Today we hear from Floyd the Floorman, John Deer the Engineer, and Chely Shoehart the Giftshop Supervisor, PLUS we bring you the new segment WOW SCHATZ WOW! where we tell you a story that's surprising.  As my mom would say, "Wow, Schatz, wow!"

Tomorrow, as I mentioned before, will be no podcast because I'll be enjoying my birthday.  However, Wednesday we will come back with the segment MIKE ON MOBILE where I'll more than likely call in from my birthday festivities.  So much fun!  We'll also hear from the Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player: three people that never give me anything for my birthday.  That's probably a good thing.  I don't think they could pick out a gift if their lives depended on it.  Right now their lives depend on air and a healthy dose of cheese wiz.  Sad.

So today I watched my first Raiders game
in quite awhile and it was not at all lame
they beat the Vikings and it was fun to watch
and the whole game I hardly looked at my watch
you see I must admit I'm not the biggest sports fan
I'll watch at my father-in-law's because he's a Raiders man
I ask him lots of questions because I'm completely naive
but now I have a bunch of knowledge up my sleeve
for example, did you know the Raiders have a...uh...hell, I don't remember
like I said I could give a crap about sports
but I respect the guys who play, they're the dedicated sort.

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino the Parking Attendant, and Bison Bentley, PLUS we bring you the segment MIKE's SCAVENGER HUNT where I tell you about an interesting place that you should really hunt for.  We surprise interview someone there and have a good laugh.

Tomorrow we bring you the NEW segment called WOW SCHATZ WOW! where we discuss something that would make my German mother say to me "WOW, SCHATZ, WOW!"  We also hear from Floyd the Floorman, John Deer the Engineer, and Chely Shoehart the Giftshop Supervisor: three people that love football games.  So much so that they have occasionally tackled me and thrown me out the window of THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH.  But, to be fair, sometimes I deserve it.

So here it is sweet Saturday
and Thanksgiving's on its way
also my birthday in 3 days
can I avoid that in any way?
Oh yes there's death but I'm not ready for that
who really is? As a matter of fact
most people want to live at least another day
'carpe diem" is what they always say
at least Thanksgiving's 2 days after my birthday so I'll have something to cheer me up
42 was supposed to be an awesome year
it's wasn't bad but I hope 43's not a beer...I mean bear...rhyming's difficult.

Here I am on a Friday evening

I was busy with helping out family members
now it's podcasting time if I can remember
tonight I might be seeing the band we had on the show
they're called Mister Loveless if you didn't know
I interviewed the lead singer, Rob, and he was all right
they're playing in Oakland tonight if you're in the area tonight
yes, that's Occupy Oakland territory, but you just need to be anti-banks to blend in
no, that's not as easy as it sounds
is there an atm nearby that I can get my money out?

I was looking for documentaries on Hulu
there was one on Ed Wood...who knew?
Ed Wood was at the helm
of Plan 9 From Outer Space an awful film
he directed some of the worst movies ever made
including Glen or Glenda and a virtual parade
of horror films that watching now are such a ride
he had Bela Lugosi in most of them before he died
Tim Burton made a movie called Ed Wood with Johnny Depp that talked about all the crazy stuff he did
Martin Landau got an Academy Award
for playing Bela which looked pretty hard.

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino the Parking Attendant, and Bison Bentley, PLUS we bring yoiu the segment NEWS RANDOM featuring an interesting story about furniture.  Yes, that's possible.

Yesterday my wife and I
went with some friends on a drive
to a cool spot in Oakland sight seeing
where people are no longer living
it's the Mountain View cemetery and don't be scared
it has some very famous people who are interred there
including the guy from Ghirardelli Chocolate
and the founder of the University of California
plus the founder of Crocker Bank...does anyone remember that bank?  None of the protesters do either.
the view of the entire bay area was great
that place you just don't want to stay there too late!
