So California got hit with some hard wind
everywhere there's fallen trees and limbs
and people have got bad allergies
with all the airborne dust and debris
when I was in the South when the winds kicked up
you found a cellar or some place to pray for luck
it only seems that kites, sailboats, and windmills
are the only thing that benefit from the wind's mighty chill
in Southern California I couldn't stand the Santa Ana's.  They always put me in a bad mood.
That's when the wind blows from east to west
causing everything inland to be on your door step

So Christmas time's a comin'
and my memories have been runnin'
I remember all those years in radio
when I was forced to do the Christmas eve show
you're not allowed to talk since it's only Christmas music
so I sat their starting the next song and I didn't get to choose it
and this was Christmas Country music so add that to the mix
yet sometimes some part of me actually kinda misses it
listening to that many Christmas songs can make most people suicidal.  Luckily I held it together.
Sometimes I forget the weird hours and all the other flaws
it's amazing what we sacrifice in the name of our jobs.

Today we hear from the Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, PLUS we bring you the segment THE PAM BAUMGARDNER FILES!

Tomorrow we'll bring you the return of the highly acclaimed segment INTO AN INTERVIEW where we talk to a singer/songwriter who is writing amazing songs that are full of history and delight.  Her name is Mary Z. Sorry no podcast yesterday
I got wrapped up in so much work and play
I visited San Francisco and saw a lot
staying near the piers and boats that bob
you'll hear in my segment MIKE ON MOBILE all that I did
it's cellphone quality and my phone is a piece of shi---biddydoo
then last night my friends Terri and Steve
took me out to a German birthday dinner more delicious than you can believe!
I had Schnitzel and a beer that was so delicious and so much.  Almost a bucket's worth!
So this is Wednesday's exciting podcast
let's hope it makes up for no Tuesday show alas.

Last night I watched Back to the Future Three
on blue ray so it was so much clearer to see
they shot the old west town parts up here in the Sonora area
we know someone lived there then and said it was the place to be uh
what's funny is my mom new someone in the late eighties
who lived over there in Port Hueneme
and saw them shoot the final scene with the time machine train
and he saw the day they destroyed the Delorean that must have been insane!
Living in California you tend to see movies being made.  And then you see movies 20 years later and go...oh, I know where that is!
Mary Steenburgen moved to the Ventura County and Ojai
she may have been introduced during that Back to the Future time.

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino the Parking Attendant, and Bison Bentley, PLUS we bring you the segment NEW RANDOM with news that concerns your seat.  The one you're sitting on?  Maybe.

So it's Sunday and we have a task
that's a new holiday tradition alas
we have a wooden stick reindeer
that we have to go get out of here
so with some consultation from my wife's family
we have made this a fun holiday anomaly
we decorate the reindeer then pass it along
to some one who passes it on and so on and so on
each person adds another decoration to it before passing it on.
It's like Christmas hot potato
hey, that's a great name for a Christmas movie on HBO...or ABC Family...whatever.

Today we hear from the Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, PLUS we bring you the segment MIKE's CASSETTE CUBBYHOLE featuring an interview I did with a Ventura, California band that sadly no longer exists.  Some bands should never disappear.

So Black Friday is over now
and we wonder why we got up so early and how
so many people got up early and stood outside
hoping for some magical savings on crap inside
I don't believe in that sort of mass hysteria
it's like cool aid pouring down and being lapped up like sangria
let's all wake up for a far better cause
like all of coming together to save Santa Clause
because he needs to be saved!  There's like a hundred movies on tv this time of year that say so.
So here we go with Saturday's awesome podcast

So yesterday was turkey day
or to some football non-stop day
kind of ironic ain't it that there's guy sweating on fields
while fat guys watch them having just eaten big meals
my wife made her first turkey and it was delicious
she made home made stuffing that was outrageous
and then to top it all off a pecan pumpkin cheese cake
that is something I hope she again will make
meanwhile I am the worst host in the world because I don't have a tv
on Thanksgiving males watch what football brings
while the women enjoy talking about real things...like Black Friday...is that today?
