So my Mom comes in for a visit from F L A
I haven't seen her in over a year so I can't wait
we're going to Alcatraz tomorrow for sure
maybe I'll get out for good behavior
then on Friday we're going to go to China Town
and maybe find some dim sum we can go chow down
then on Saturday we see some vineyards in Livermore
there's a chance that I'll get tipsy off what is poured
then my Mom goes home on Sunday.  A brief whirlwind of a San Francisco trip.
So no podcasts till Monday but if you're bored
there's a month of shows you can replay or...not...whatever.

Today we hear from The Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, PLUS we bring you the segment EMAIL FOR ME MAIL where we find out who the winner is of MIKE's YULETIDE PERSONALIZED MP3 FOR THEE CONTEST!

Last night I watched a cool kid's movie
I finally saw Despicable Me
it reminded me of The Incredibles style
but it was more silly and cgi wild
the main guy looks like Uncle Fester with Steve Carrel's nose
actually the voice is Steve so that works great I suppose
he has a whole army of strange little balloon like mutants
oh, and my allergies are still here and so is the mucus
wow...that was a completely unnecessary rhyme.  I apologize!
Then we watched Julia Robert's first movie Mystic Pizza
we rented them from the library isn't that really neat...uh?

Today we hear from Floyd the Floorman, John Deer the Engineer, and Chely Shoehart the Giftshop Supervisor, PLUS we bring you the segment MIKE's CASSETTE CUBBYHOLE where we hear the finale of my interview with a band in the 90's that sadly is no longer around and is nowhere to be found on the internet.

So my sinuses are all  messed up
since the crazy December winds kicked up
and I've noticed I only drink tea
when some ailment is affecting me
some people prefer tea to coffee and that's okay
but tea seems to be such hard drink to make
boiling water then waiting while a bag changes the flavor
and then it tastes pretty good but what's all the effort for?
But it's the only thing I can drink when I'm sick so I guess I must just deal with it.
So today's show may not be the best thing
I am hoping that you'll be a little understanding

Today we hear from Madame Rootabega, Valentino the Parking Attendant , and Bison Bentley, PLUS we bring you the segment WHAT's THE CLICHE OF THE WEEK?

Tomorrow we'll hear the segment MIKE's CASSETTE CUBBYHOLE with part 2 of an interview he did with a band that no longer exists.  This was an awesome band so it's too bad they're gone.  We'll also hear from Floyd the Floorman, John Deer the Engineer, and Chely Shoehart the Giftshop Supervisor: three people who never have sinus problems.  They just have Linus problems.  They can't get rid of their blankets.

Now the winds have caused me
to experience the fun of allergies
why does it always happen to me
like my mom coming to visit this week
so I am hoping that it clears up before she gets  here
she's visiting from Florida and I haven't seen her in over a year
we're going to see Alcatraz, China Town, and Livermore
the vineyards are better than in Napa that's for shore!
And less freakin' pretentious!  Don't you hate pretentiousness?  I hate myself sometimes.
Oh, and I fixed a cassette tape that was all a mess
do you know how difficult that is and pointless?

Today we hear from the Brewmaster, Benita the Rodeo Queen, and the Disgruntled Fiddle Player, PLUS we hear the finale of our INTO AN INTERVIEW with singer/songwriter Mary Z. Wilson of the band The Restless Hillfillies as well as one more great song!

So it's Christmas time again
must include man's best friend
that would be the special canine
dress him up in holiday clothes so fine
the Hayward Santa Paws parade happened this morning at ten
it was full of every type of human's best friend
along with dogs there was a pig and a little pony
I brought Basil, my Boxer, and he was looking for a bone..ee
no, it was a lot of watch where you walk, there's some dogs he gets along with and some he doesn't
so now I'm in the Christmas mood, I suppose
though the chilly wind has messed up my nose

So California got hit with some hard wind
everywhere there's fallen trees and limbs
and people have got bad allergies
with all the airborne dust and debris
when I was in the South when the winds kicked up
you found a cellar or some place to pray for luck
it only seems that kites, sailboats, and windmills
are the only thing that benefit from the wind's mighty chill
in Southern California I couldn't stand the Santa Ana's.  They always put me in a bad mood.
That's when the wind blows from east to west
causing everything inland to be on your door step

So Christmas time's a comin'
and my memories have been runnin'
I remember all those years in radio
when I was forced to do the Christmas eve show
you're not allowed to talk since it's only Christmas music
so I sat their starting the next song and I didn't get to choose it
and this was Christmas Country music so add that to the mix
yet sometimes some part of me actually kinda misses it
listening to that many Christmas songs can make most people suicidal.  Luckily I held it together.
Sometimes I forget the weird hours and all the other flaws
it's amazing what we sacrifice in the name of our jobs.
